Cucumber Recall In Montana Due To Salmonella Risk
If you're like me, you love a cucumber salad. I grew up on cucumbers and red onion in vinegar. Yum. Now, my obsession is those same ingredients WITH Greek yogurt or mayo. It's so dang yummy.
So, imagine my sadness when I found out there is a cucumber recall.
SunFed Produce, Baloian Farms, and Russ Davis Cucumbers Have Been Recalled
According to the FDA, this recalls includes slicer cucumbers. In Montana, those would be from Baloian Farms or products containing cucumbers from Russ Davis. This includes salads, salad dressings, sushi and anything else that may contain cucumbers.
Pepper Recall: What To Know
From KULR 8, the infected cucumbers were sold between October 12, 2024 and November 26, 2024, and they're wrapped in clear plastic. Some cucumbers could have a sticker on them that says, "Sunfed Mexico"
Montana Has Been Hit Harder Than Any Other State Included In The Recall
According to Montana Public Radio, 17 Montanans have been reported to have contracted Salmonella from the tainted cucumbers. As of writing, 68 people have been reported sick, 18 have been hospitalized and there have been no deaths.
If you do happen to eat a tainted cucumber, they say that you could become ill with diarrhea, fever and cramps for a couple of days or up to a week. By the time you figure it out, it will probably have run it's course.
What Should You Do If You Have Tainted Cucumbers?
The FDA recommends that you throw them away immediately and clean and sanitize all of the surfaces you think the cucumber has come in contact with.
